What can we find out from fossils?

We read a book called, The Little Dinosaur.  In the book the paleontologist studied the bones and then gave them to an artist and the artist imagined what the dinosaur would have looked like on the outside.  We looked at some fossils and tried to find out something about the dinosaur then we had to draw what we thought the dinosaur might have looked like on the outside.

Paleontologists at Work

Paleontologists are people who find and study things from a long time ago, such as dinosaur fossils.  Sometimes they find bones that are scattered all over the place and they have to put them together.  As you can see from our pictures, you can make lots of different looking dinosaurs with the same bones.  I wonder which one is right?

Fossil Matching

We had to match the fossil to the real dinosaur, just as paleontologists do.

Dinosaurs

In computer time we have been learning how to use Microsoft Office.  This week we learnt how to insert wordart and clipart into our document.  Check out some of these cool documents.

Holiday Recounts

We have been learning how to write a recount.  A recount is when you write about something that has happened.  A recount must have the following things,

A title
An Orientation (who, what, when and where)
Events
An ending

Here are some of the great recounts we wrote about our holidays.
